Jen Gilligan Cole is a dynamic leader with over 13 years of experience in nonprofit innovation, organizational leadership and organizational culture-building. She has held a variety of positions with state governments, local and national nonprofits including-the Delaware Department of Education, the Points of Light Foundation, Earth Force, and Hands On Nashville. She has authored numerous leadership and training curricula and contributed research and scholarly work to Volunteer Tennessee, America's Promise the Alliance for Youth, the International Association of Voluntary Effort (IAVE) and others, as well as articles and op-eds to Volunteer Leadership magazine, The Tennessean, and other publications. She holds a bachelors degree in English from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington). She is an active participant in her neighborhood and community. She is a past board member of the Nashville League of Women Voters and Hands On Network. Currently, she serves on the Governor's Civic Education Commission, the Metro Action Commission and the Children's House Montessori school board of directors. She is active in the Nashville Women's Political Caucus, local campaigns and her neighborhood association.
